Grief and loss
Life After Loss: How to Rebuild Yourself

One day a day comes when the sharp pain recedes, and life around you is still not put back together. You have to decide anew how to live, what matters, who to be with, what to do. This is not a betrayal of memory, but a continuation — the hardest and the most honest one.
Why you can't go back to the way things were
The first impulse is to become your old self: bring back habits, work, socializing, as if nothing had happened. But you won't be your old self again: both the circumstances and you yourself have changed. Attempts to "rewind" lead to disappointment, because they compare today's you with who you were before.
