Emotional Intelligence: How to Develop It

A smart person solves problems. An emotionally intelligent person solves problems with people. And with themselves.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to understand your emotions, manage them, understand the emotions of others, and build connections. It's not about being "good." It's about being effective. At work. In relationships. In life. A person with high emotional intelligence isn't someone who never gets angry. It's someone who knows why they're angry and what to do about it. Not someone who's always happy. But someone who can be sad without falling apart.
It's a skill. Not an innate talent. You can develop it at any age. But to do that, you need to stop fearing your own feelings. And stop ignoring the feelings of others.
