Emotions
How to learn to feel your emotions instead of suppressing them

Emotions aren't something to solve. They're something to experience. Like a wave. It comes and goes. If you don't fight it.
Feeling emotions means being with a feeling without trying to kill it. Not running away. Not drowning it out. Not analyzing it to death. Simply letting it be. Until it passes on its own. Because emotions are waves. They have a beginning, a peak, and an ebb. An average emotion lasts from a few seconds to a few minutes. If you don't feed it with thoughts. But we're used to fighting. Thinking: you shouldn't be angry, you shouldn't be sad, you shouldn't be afraid. And instead of experiencing it, we get stuck. For months. For years.
Feeling isn't a meltdown. It isn't destruction. It's conscious presence. "I'm angry. And that's okay. I'm giving myself ten minutes to feel this." Then the wave subsides. And you remain whole.
