Boundaries
When Boundaries Are Crossed. How to Respond

You finally put up a fence. And someone decides to climb over it. What do you do?
You've learned to say "no". You've set boundaries. And then someone crosses them. Mom calls even though you asked her not to call after ten. A colleague dumps their work on you again. Your partner reads your messages. A friend criticizes your choices when you asked them not to meddle.
Crossing a boundary is when someone steps onto your territory without asking. It can be aggressive: "Give me your phone, I'll check it." Or it can be gentle: "I'm just worried, that's why I'm asking." But the essence is the same: your boundary has been ignored.
