Grounding Practices: What to Do When You're Overwhelmed

When it hits, it's useless to tell yourself that it's all in the past. In those moments, talking to yourself doesn't work: the only thing that works is what brings your body and attention back to the room you're in. Grounding is returning to the present through your body and senses. Not thinking, not analyzing, not searching for causes. Simply "I am here, now, in this room, in this body."
