Boundaries
Rigid boundaries vs flexible boundaries. What’s better

A wall keeps everyone out. A fence with a gate lets those you trust in.
When people start setting boundaries, they often go to extremes. Either there are no boundaries at all, or they become an iron wall. “I don’t trust anyone. I don’t let anyone close. Everyone wants to use me.” These are rigid boundaries. They protect, but they also isolate.
Rigid boundaries are when you let no one in. You trust no one. You don’t ask for help. You don’t show weakness. You’re like a fortress. You keep everyone on the other side of the wall. And inside, it’s lonely.
