Control in Relationships. Love or Prison

You call it care. But he feels suffocated. Control hides behind a mask of love. But underneath, it's always fear.
Control in a relationship is when one partner decides for the other. Where to be. Who to talk to. What to wear. When to call. All disguised as care: "I'm just worried." "I want to make sure you're okay." "I need to know what's going on." But really, it's an attempt to keep the other in sight. Because if he slips out of your view, something bad might happen. He might cheat. He might leave. He might stop loving you.
Control is not love. Love gives freedom. Control takes it away. The more control there is, the less relationship remains—only a prison with a lovely sign on the door.
