Childhood trauma
Can You Heal Childhood Trauma On Your Own

Yes, you can. But not always. And it's important to know where self-help ends and professional support begins.
Many people think: I'll figure it out myself. I'll read books. Watch videos. Do exercises. And it'll all go away. And that's partly true. There's plenty you can do alone. Especially if the trauma isn't too deep. Especially if you have resources. Especially if you're ready to put in the work.
But there comes a point where self-help isn't enough. When the trauma runs too deep. When it's tied to violence. When you don't remember your childhood at all. When you have suicidal thoughts. When you're struggling to function day to day. In those cases, self-help can even do more harm. Because opening a wound without knowing how to heal it is dangerous.
